When the Circle Expands: Trust the Bigger Plan

Sometimes, the Universe has a way of guiding us into the unexpected — not with chaos, but with a quiet nudge that says: “You’re ready for more than you think.”

That’s exactly what happened with my recent Usui Reiki I & II Training. Typically, I limit my classes to six students. That size feels intimate, manageable, and energetically sustainable for the deep healing work that happens in these sacred containers.

But this time… something shifted.

Before I knew it, the class had grown beyond my usual limit. At first, it felt a little daunting — holding space for more meant more energy, more stories, more emotion, and more of my own presence required. Reiki training with me isn’t just about learning hand placements or symbols. It’s a deeply personal journey. Whether they realize it or not, each person who steps into the room arrives with their own healing unfolding. They come to be seen, heard, acknowledged… and transformed.

As the group gathered, I felt the weight of that responsibility — to truly hold space for everyone, not just as a teacher but as a witness to their unique stories. I knew I couldn’t just teach the curriculum; I had to hold the energy of their becoming. The part that’s unwritten. The part where magic lives.

And yet… as the weekend unfolded, something beautiful happened. The room didn’t feel crowded — it felt full. Full of laughter, full of emotion, full of release and remembrance. Each person brought their own light, and together, we created a container so rich with connection and healing that I couldn’t help but be in awe.

I was reminded, once again, to trust the process. To trust that when the Universe brings something to your doorstep — even when it feels big or unexpected — it’s not random. It’s perfectly timed. Perfectly aligned.

This class was meant to be. These souls were meant to cross paths in this way. And I was meant to rise to meet them.

So here’s to holding space, even when it stretches us.
To listening when the Universe whispers, “You’ve got this.”
To leaning into the unknown with an open heart.

Because that’s where the real magic begins.

On this quiet still Sunday morning, the energy of the weekend settled around me and I sat in the stillness of my heart— and I let myself feel it.

The fullness. The awe. The deep, humbling honour.

Something shifted in me this week. Not just in holding space for a larger-than-usual group, but in realizing the magnitude of what has unfolded over the years. Twice this week, I’ve been asked how many students have I taught? This question always makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. I don’t do this for head count. I don’t do this to be more than another. I do this to create change, to help, to support, to be a light for others to step into the unknown magic that lies just out of reach. I’ve now had the privilege of guiding over 250 beautiful souls through the first levels of Reiki training — each one stepping in for their own reasons, each one walking out changed.

And that’s what brings me to tears… the ripple effect.

It’s not just about the students. It’s about the people they go on to hold space for — their children, their loved ones, their clients, their communities. The healing doesn’t end when class is over. It begins there. And then it ripples outward in ways I’ll never fully see, but I feel it. Every time.

Teaching Reiki isn’t just a role I’ve stepped into. It’s a path I’ve been called to walk — one that felt aligned from the moment I began in 2007, one that stretches me, grows me, and humbles me with every class. And this weekend was a beautiful reminder that I am also always evolving. That I’m not just a teacher — I’m a student of this work, too. Always learning. Always deepening. Always opening to more.

To everyone who has ever sat in one of my circles — thank you. Thank you for trusting me. For letting me be part of your healing journey. And for carrying the light forward into the world. 🥹

From the bottom of my heart… I am so grateful. 💓
